is now a modern family-owned company with one of Germany's most diverse ranges of aluminium products.

History

100 years of experience with metals. And with people.

Since the company was founded by Walter Hartmann in 1925, the name W. Hartmann & Co. Metalle has stood for reliability, quality and innovation in the metal trade. What began with supplying shipyards in Hamburg developed over the decades into a company with a nationwide presence.

Today, we are a third-generation, medium-sized family business with more than 160 employees and one of Germany's most diverse stock ranges of surface-finished aluminium semi-finished products.

With more than 100 product groups and over 4,000 dimensions, grades and alloys, W. Hartmann & Co. offers one of the most diverse stock ranges of aluminium semi-finished products in Germany. Whether rolled or extruded products, surface finishing, cutting to size or customised manufacturing – we supply what our customers need. Our strength lies in combining immediately available stock with customer-specific solutions. When it comes to high-quality surface finishes, W. Hartmann & Co. is a trusted specialist: termolac®, ff2®, powder and coil coatings are just as much part of our portfolio as untreated and anodised semi-finished products. This enables us to meet the highest standards of design, technology and functionality – from architectural facades to vehicle manufacturing.

Locations and team

Our headquarters, with a 25,000 m² site and 15,000 m² of covered facilities, is located just outside Hamburg. We also have a strong branch in Gladbeck in the Ruhr region. More than 160 dedicated employees work across our five locations in Germany, serving around 9,300 satisfied customers. Customers and suppliers value W. Hartmann & Co. as a modern, service-oriented partner that responds to individual requirements quickly, competently and reliably.
